  2. Canasta for Windows Information
  3. ===============================

  5. Canasta is a strategy cardgame for Windows 95. It is the computer
  6. version of the classic Canasta game played all over the world. Canasta
  7. is played with two players. In this computer version that means you
  8. play against the machine or another person over a network. There are
  9. three difficulty levels, so you always have an opponent that matches
  10. your skills. Get to know the game, it's great fun!

  12. The evaluation version of Canasta has full functionality and no
  13. timeout limit. You can try everything and nothing has been disabled,
  14. so you have the opportunity to try the game before registering. 
  15. The only limitation is that there are 25 different hands available.
  16. These hands are dealt in random order and you can play as long as you
  17. want. After 25 hands you will notice that certain hands will start to
  18. reappear. When you decide you want access to the full game with
  19. 1billions of different hands, you need to enter your registration key.
  20. You only have to do that once; the key will remain valid for future
  21. updates of Canasta.

  23. With registering, you also get the right to a free listing on the
  24. Canasta Internet Player List. This allows you to get in touch with
  25. other Canasta players!

  49. Registration can take place in the following ways:

  51. 1)    Dutch residents can transfer f29,95 to PostBank account nr 
  52.         4375889 or ABN AMRO Bank account nr 619391367.
  53.  
  54. 2)    Members of CompuServe can GO SWREG and register Canasta with id 3124.
  55.  
  56. 3)    Credit card orders by phone, fax or mail are taken by PsL
  57.         -- please refer to the section below.
  58.  
  59. 4)    Sending $19.95 US in cash or with a personal check through the mail
  60.         (See REGISTER.TXT). CHECKS MUST BE DRAWN ON A US BANK AND IN US DOLLARS.
  61.         For all other checks, (except Eurocheques) I must ask for an extra $10
  62.         to compensate for the bank charges. Eurocheques MUST be in Dutch guilders
  63.         (HFL); please remember the code on the back!

  65. When using method 4), please fill out the REGISTER.TXT file. You can then use the
  66. printout to fold the money in, so that it is not visible from the outside.
